Increase the life of your Lingerie by hand washing with gentle detergents, wash them separately from other clothes so you don't get colour run, and be especially careful with your whites; if you really can't be bothered with hand washing take the time to throw your lingerie into a wash bag with your regular wash - like colours. Drying in direct sunlight can fade and break down the fibres over time - if you have to dry in the sun take the extra time to hang them inside out.

Storage

If you don't already have a dedicated drawer for your Lingerie, take the time to separate your swimwear, nightwear and loungewear from your Lingerie. Your Lingerie deserves its own drawer; place your padded bras so that they sit into one another this will help retain their original shape.  An organised lingerie drawer saves time when you are looking for that set to go with your outfit. 

Buying Tip

There is nothing more frustrating than reaching for your Lingerie set only to find that the briefs are in the wash and you really wanted to wear the set. This scenario is all too common and can seriously put your day out - or halt proceedings anyway. Do yourself a favor and purchase at least two Briefs per Bra. Great too for changing into a fresh pair when you get home from work and need to rush out to dinner; Briefs for day and G or Boxer for night under your fitted dress.  It's a great solution and you will definitely increase the wear and life of that set.

Lingerie as a Gift

There is no doubt about it; lingerie is a very personal and special gift to give any woman.
Buying lingerie as a gift can be daunting so we have a few tips to help out.

Get a handle on what bra styles she likes to wear (see common bra styles); dont go looking in her lingerie drawer for answers, play it safe and pay attention to the styles she likes to wear regularly.

Start familiarising yourself with her regular bra size and brief size, asking her is the easy way - whats the fun in that! You'll find opportunities to do your research.

So you find she likes to wear Balconnet bras and Underwire bras with no padding, one of her favorite bras is a size 12C. She much prefers wearing a boxer or g-string, her favorite g-string is a size 10 or small.

Once you are armed with this information you can walk into a retail store or shop on-line with confidence.

If you are still not too confident with buying a Bra and Brief set, opt for nightwear; slips/camisoles/french knickers, select from clothing sizes (see size chart)

Shopping for Lingerie is really fun, don't doubt yourself and your ability to make the right choice for her, after all, you know her tastes and the tones that look great on her. It's all worth the look of surprise when she opens that gift; it's from the heart and she will be quite blown away.
